Description

Our Baker’s Dozen – Chromatic Verdi Scale was developed by musician and researcher Maria Renold in her 1985 book, “Intervals, Scales, Tones: And the Concert Pitch c=128 Hz”. (Available on Amazon HERE) She created her scale by combining ancient Greek Pythagorean measurements with the equal tempered scale tuned to Middle C = 256 Hz and A = 432 Hz. This latter scale became known as the “Verdi Scale” in honor of Giuseppi Verdi who in the 19th Century demanded it be adopted as a requirement for all public performances of classical music in Italy. Our Baker’s Dozen – Chromatic Verdi Scale includes all 13 tones in this scale from C=256 Hz through it’s octave, C=512 Hz. Both the ancient Greek Pythagorean scale and the Verdi Tuning Scale are also available on our site.
